Who Druckenmiller is, and why his filings matter
Stanley Druckenmiller ran Duquesne Capital Management from 1981 and, for part of that time, was lead portfolio manager of George Soros's Quantum Fund. He is best known for the 1992 bet against the British pound that forced the United Kingdom out of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism. Duquesne's record of roughly 30% average annual returns without a losing year until he closed the fund to outside investors in 2010 is widely cited, which is why the stanley druckenmiller portfolio still draws attention even though he now manages only family money.
Because Duquesne Family Office manages more than $100 million in US-listed equities, it still files a quarterly 13F. That makes the druckenmiller 13f filings one of the few public windows into how a macro investor translates big-picture views into individual stocks and options.
A macro investor's stock book
The latest stanley druckenmiller 13f shows 95 positions, a much broader book than concentrated stock pickers such as Bill Ackman. The top five lines account for 32.8% of reported value and the top ten for 45.9%. About 16.4% of reported value is in call options, including calls on exchange-traded funds, which he uses to express views on whole markets or sectors.
One name stands out: NTRA has been the largest position in every one of the last 6 filings. For a trader known for moving quickly, that kind of persistence signals high conviction.
Does he own AI stocks?
People searching for a druckenmiller ai stocks portfolio usually expect Nvidia. In the latest filing his exposure to companies tied to artificial-intelligence infrastructure — chipmakers, storage, cloud platforms and data-center hosts — comes to 22.3% of reported value across 10 positions: TSM, STM, AMZN, GOOGL, STX, AMZN calls, BTDR, AMD and 2 more. That is a meaningful but not dominant slice of the portfolio.

The number of positions and the share held in options move a lot from quarter to quarter. Many druckenmiller stock picks are held for only one or two filings, so the history is more useful for spotting themes than for copying individual trades.
Learning from his approach
Druckenmiller has said in interviews that the key to his returns was sizing: putting a lot of capital behind the few ideas he believes in most, and cutting losses quickly when he is wrong. He also stresses watching liquidity and central-bank policy rather than current earnings. A 13F cannot show those decisions directly, but it does show where the largest bets sit and how quickly they change.
Limits of the 13F
- Currency, bond, commodity and futures positions — central to a macro strategy — are not reported.
- Short sales of stock and most non-US holdings are excluded.
- Filings arrive up to 45 days after quarter end and show a single snapshot.
